Residents of Shenley are being invited to a free event this April to celebrate the neighbourhood’s history and heritage.

Shenley Heritage Day will take place on Tuesday 7th April 2026, 11am-7pm, at Shenley Court Hall and has been organised by Bournville Village Trust and Selly Manor Museum.

Visitors to the family-friendly event will be able to drop-into the Hall on Green Meadow Road and enjoy games and dress up in historical costumes.

There will also be the chance to share memories and stories with the Shenley History Group.

A range of archive photos of Shenley will be on display as well as fantastic film footage of the neighbourhood from the 1970s and 80s.

Plus, visitors will be able to view the Icons and Instigators exhibition which celebrates inspirational women who helped shape Bournville. It has been curated by Selly Manor Museum to celebrate Women’s History Month.

Joanne Deakin, Centre Co-ordinator at Shenley Court Hall, managed by Bournville Village Trust, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming families to our second Shenley Heritage Day, following the success of last year’s event.

“Not only is it a fantastic opportunity to delve into the history of Shenley but visitors can have fun with games and dress-up and find out about all the fantastic activities we hold at the hall on a regular basis.”
