A new state-of-the-art gym is set to open in Northfield this month after a delay of several weeks.

Trident Gym Birmingham was set to open in September. However, progress was held up by several weeks when asbestos was found in the roof space.

Now the issue has been professionally dealt with, Trident are almost ready to open their sixth gym in Bristol Road South.

The art-deco building was originally built in 1938 as the Danilo Cinema, later becoming the Essoldo Cinema. In more recent times, the building has been home to several gym brands including Fitness First, Sports Direct and Everlast.

The new gym boasts cutting-edge strength equipment, cardio machines, and dedicated spaces for powerlifting, bodybuilding, functional fitness, and CrossFit enthusiasts.

For recovery and relaxation, the facility offers luxury amenities including saunas, steam rooms, and advanced cryotherapy chambers.

A clean, modern interior design features dark painted walls and flooring with custom wall art.

A spokesperson said: “At Trident Gym, we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive, supportive, and family-friendly environment. Our passionate and expert team is always on hand to guide, inspire, and empower you toward achieving your fitness goals.”

Accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the gym will be staffed between 8am and 9pm on weekdays and 8am until 4pm on weekends.

Membership costs £40 per month for individuals and £70 for couples.
