Brewers Fayre pubs in Rubery and Bromsgrove are set to close this week as part of a growth plan by owners Whitbread to grow their Premier Inn brand.
Brewers Fayre Great Park, Rubery will close its doors to the public following service on Thursday 4th July and will continue serving guests at the neighbouring Premier Inn as a dedicated hotel restaurant. Brewers Fayre The Guild in Bromsgrove will also close.

The move to reform food and drink offerings was announced in April as part of a growth plan for Premier Inn by hospitality giant Whitbread, who own both brands. It was proposed that 238 venues would close and either be sold or turned into Premier Inn guest-only restaurants. The company plans to increase their Premier Inn provision in the UK with 3500 new-room extensions by restructing their food and beverage offering.
Affected venues were not specified and our queries last month regarding the proposed future for Great Park and The Guild went unanswered, with Whitbread saying that plans were still under consultation.
It is now clear that both venues are closing with some staff being made redundant. We have asked Whitbread to confirm the future provisions at both sites.
We understand Beefeater, Longbridge – also a Whitbread brand – is to continue trading.
