A local animal rescue charity has been left unable to use vital facilities, after heartless thieves stripped out a caravan, essential to their work.
Offenders accessed land in the Kitwell area – where The Animal House Rescue is based – between 7pm on tuesday 31st March and 3pm on Thursday 2nd April. They broke in to a caravan, stripping fittings including: the sink, cooker and fire. Even the caravan steps and bed mattresses were taken.
The caravan is used for staff or volunteers to sleep in when animals are housed in their emergency kennels or cattery, to ensure the animals are not left unattended.
The theft means that the charity – who work across south west Birmingham and the Black Country – are now unable to use the emergency blocks at a time when all rescues are struggling, due to the coronavirus outbreak.
