West Midlands Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after another man died from stab wounds in hospital yesterday (2 Oct).
The 21-year-old was helped by a passer-by who called an ambulance on Middleton Hall Road around 9.30pm on Friday (1 Oct). He sadly died from his injuries hours later.
Roads have remained closed around where the man was found to allow officers to conduct a fingertip search of the area looking for forensic opportunities to identify his killer. They have re-opened today.
Officers are also studying CCTV from the area and would like to hear from anyone who has information or possible dash cam footage of any suspicious.
A 20-year-old man was arrested yesterday and remains in custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Ade George, from the force’s homicide unit, is leading the enquiry. He said: “This is a complex enquiry as we believe the victim was stabbed and then walked some distance before seeking help, so our search covers a wide area.
“This young man has lost his life in the most tragic of circumstances and his family are devastated. We have specialist officers with them and we are working hard to get the answers they deserve and bring his killer to justice.”
