West Midlands Police have confirmed that a man has been arrested on ‘suspicion of arson endangering life’ following a fire which tore through several homes in Kings Norton yesterday (Thursday 13th August).
The fire broke out on Hillmeads Road shortly after 3pm yesterday, and a number of properties were evacuated because of it.
A spokesperson for WMP said: Thankfully, we don’t believe anyone was injured but damage has been caused to some houses.
“A man aged 55 was arrested on suspicion of arson endangering life and remains in police custody this afternoon.”
Items to support those affected can be donated at Greaves Hall.
“After the heartbreaking fire on Hillmeads road, Greaves Hall will be open from 10am tomorrow to recieve donations to help the families affected by this, for example clothing, bedding, tinned foods, personal care items etc.”
