One man was taken to hospital after a collision brought rush hour traffic to a standstill around Northfield Station this morning (Wednesday 11th October).

The collision involving – a car and a van – happened close to the viaduct in Church Hill at around 7.30am.

An ambulance, paramedic officer and crews from West Midlands Fire Service, attended the scene.

The driver of the car, a man, was cut free from the vehicle by fire crews and treated by ambulance staff for injuries not believed to be serious and taken to University Hospital Birmingham for further treatment.

The driver of the van was not injured.

  1. It’s chaos in this bit of Northfield each day at the moment, since the Severn Trent work began on Longbridge Lane. All of the traffic is trying to find an alternative way through on small residential roads. There was a three car
    collision on Pamela Rd a couple of weeks ago too. Severn Trent don’t seem to be in any rush to finish, but with two accidents now they might want to hurry up.
