A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man was found with stab injuries in Bartley Green on the 4 December.
The 31-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries before being taken into custody where he remains for questioning.
The family of the deceased have been informed of this latest development and continue to be supported by specialist officers.
Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, from the force’s homicide unit, said: “Our investigation is moving at pace and this arrest is a significant step in our enquiries, but we still need to hear from anyone who has information about what happened in Roundlea Road last night.”
