West Midlands Police are investigating a carjacking on Barratts Road in Kings Norton, Birmingham at around 2pm on Saturday (12 December).

A woman got into her blue Volkswagen T-Roc car when a red Fiat 500 car pulled in front of her with three people getting out and forcing their way into her car.

The group punched and kicked the woman until she got out of the driver’s seat, before both cars were driven off at speed.

A police spokesperson said: “Fortunately, the woman doesn’t have serious injuries, but we understand the trauma this has caused.”

Police are urging anyone with information or who noticed anything suspicious to contact them via live chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight, or call 101 anytime. Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111. Please quote crime reference 20BW/308634R/20.

  1. I was in Spar in Cotteridge Sunday evening. A young lad about 15/16 ran in to the shop, grabbed a large box of Budweiser and ran out. I was absolutely fuming and shocked. Local shops be aware of this low life thief! He’s about 5ft 6” slim, grey baggy joggers, black jacket with hood up. Didn’t see his face unfortunately. Spar said that he takes items regularly and runs back out. I advised Spar to plaster his face from the CCTV cameras all over the shop windows, so people can see him.
