Local brain injury charity Headway is planning its first Halloween-themed fun run later this month, following the success of its annual Easter Fun Run, now in its fourth year.

The Halloween Fun Run will take place on Sunday 27th October in Cofton Park in Longbridge, starting at 11am. The 5k route is ideal for anyone wanting to run, jog or walk, and enjoy some Halloween-themed activities as they do so. There will also be scary face painting and a short ‘Halloweenie Dash’ on the day for those under 10.

Julie Wedgbury, Fundraising Manager at Headway Birmingham & Solihull, explained: “We are keen to make this a family-friendly event and so will be aiming for Halloween fun, rather than fright!”

She confirmed there would be plenty of spookery and witchery along the woodland paths and hopes both participants and spectators will dress up. There are prizes on offer for the best Halloween costumes on the day.

Entry to the Halloween Fun Run is just £10 in advance, and includes a themed medal as well as a ‘Trick or Treat’ goody bag. Places are limited and so early registration is recommended to avoid disappointment.

The Halloweenie Dash can be entered on the day.

Refreshments and other Halloween-themed activities will also be on offer on the morning of the fun run, with all proceeds from the event going towards Headway’s brain injury services, helping improve life for brain injury survivors and their families in the local area.
