Police are appealing for more witnesses to come forward in relation to the incident on Monday evening outside Dark Arts Gym in Northfield.
38 year old gym owner, Dave Hickman who also owns Dark Arts Tattoo in Rubery, was discovered with serious head and spine injuries after apparently falling from a walkway.
Following the incident, a 48 year old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 21 year old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding. The 21 year old has since been released.
Detectives told the Birmingham Mail today that they still need to speak to witnesses to build up a clear picture of what happened in the incident. They are particularly keen to speak to a man who dialed 999 saying he had seen something and then hung up. They also want passersby who stopped to give first aid to Mr Hickman to get in touch.
The Birmingham Mail reported today that Mr Hickman was still in a critical condition in hospital. It has since been suggested to B31 Voices by a friend of Mr Hickman’s that, following lengthy surgery, his condition is showing some signs of stabilising.
