Birmingham born rock legend, Ozzy Osbourne has sadly died aged 76, his family have announced.Â
A short family statement released today (Tuesday 22nd July) read: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
The news comes just weeks after Ozzy and Black Sabbath returned for a farewell concert at Villa Park in the city, raising millions for charity.
The epic concert saw musicians from around the world come together on July 5th to celebrate the legacy of Black Sabbath in the city widely regarded as the home of heavy metal.
While the band were ‘back home’ in Brum, they were awarded the Freedom of the City, painted on city walls and even had a litter of West Midlands Police puppies named in their honour.
Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease in 2019.
