A former Birmingham Councillor has sadly passed away following a short illness (25th of June).
Carole Griffiths was a dedicated Councillor for the Longbridge area between 2016 and 2018. She was always ready and willing to support any resident that had a problem and needed her help.
Carole was not only a Counsellor that cared for her community – the former qualified NHS nurse was also the longstanding Chair of Birmingham Northfield Labour Party.

Laurence Turner MP for Birmingham Northfield said: “My thoughts are with her family and friends, and especially her husband, Peter.”
“She was […] an enthusiastic supporter of The Project, Longbridge.”
“At all times, whether as a councillor or as a volunteer, her commitment to the community she served shone through. Her legacy is in the thousands of people that she treated, and assisted with problems great and small.”
“I would like to extend thanks to the staff of Birmingham Hospice who cared for Carole in her final days.”
We at B31 Voices will always be thankful for her support to us and many of our readers – she always made herself available to answer queries (or criticisms!) and provide information to the community.
Carole was a genuine, caring, honest lady and will be very much missed. Â RIP xx
The details of her funeral will be confirmed soon.
