A Northfield woman has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for her part in a fraud which saw a Dudley care home resident’s will faked.
Jamiel Slaney-Summers, 65, was the manager of Alderley Care Home when the will of resident Rita Barnsley (85) was faked after her death in 2021. The fraudsters were found to have used coloured pens and different styles of handwriting, naming Slaney-Summers and one of the care home owners as beneficiaries of her £175,000 estate.
Slaney-Summers was also found guilty of stealing £6000 from Ms Barnsley using her bank card.
The owners of the care home, Halesowen couple Graham Walker, 74, and Lyn Walker, 71, will be sentenced at a later date.

It has also emerged that further issues regarding Mrs Slaney-Summers’ behaviour had been raised to the Care Quality Commission previously.
Channel 4 News has identified at least seven complaints to the CQC about the alleged behaviour of Slaney-Summers across four different care homes, spanning 2014 to 2021.
Channel 4 News reports that: “Trading Standards for Dudley Council has confirmed that investigations are under way into a further nine potential victims of Slaney-Summers in the wake of the Rita Barnsley case.”
