It was Christmas fun in Frankley despite the (typical) ‘Grinchy’ weather on Friday (5th) afternoon.
Residents in and around Frankley were certainly feeling in the Christmas spirit after yet another fabulous event organised by the wonderful New Frankley Parish Council and Frankley Carnival.
Yes it rained and was a tad nippy – but there was no bah-humbug atmosphere there – the lucky peeps who attended were treated to face painting, crafts, refreshments, Jammersley Entertainment, Christmas Lights switch on and the REAL Santa popped in!!
And if having the REAL Santa in attendance wasn’t enough, Joe James Thomas, musician who featured on ‘The Piano’ on Channel 4, was there armed with his piano and guitar.
A spokesperson for Frankley Carnival said: “Thanks for all showing up in this weather, volunteers, Santa helpers, face painters are newbees helpers, are star act Joe James Thomas Music & lovely Jammersley Entertainment. Happy Christmas and New Year”
Cllr Simon Morrall said: Joyful Christmas fun in Frankley this evening as they do every year. Moved inside due to weather but still a great turn out and great fun with Santa and his elves and I got to lead the count down for the lights switch on for the first time.”
