A huge new display in Longbridge has turned a traditional LED billboard into something far more meaningful: a single shared public medium where innovation, culture, and community pride come together.

VieuPoint is a towering 10.56m × 3.84m DV-LED display that sits at the heart of Longbridge on Birmingham’s bustling A38, beside the Allsee Technologies building. Founded in 2007, Allsee Technologies is a leading UK-based manufacturer and end-to-end provider of commercial display and digital signage solutions.

VieuPoint is the first UK billboard to dedicate a full 50% of its screen time to non-commercial artwork – showcasing inspiring pieces from local and international artists. The remaining space invites the community to share personal messages and local business promotions. Rather than being dominated by advertising, this display is a shared cultural noticeboard – designed to spark a collective conversation, uplift, and support the cultural regeneration of Longbridge by reconnecting people to the space around them.

Unlike any other billboard in the UK, VieuPoint is a platform for public expression – where art, community messages, and accessible advertising share equal space. It is designed not only to uplift and inspire but to support the cultural regeneration of Longbridge by reconnecting people to the space around them.

A Canvas for The Community

The VieuPoint project is an answer to the increasingly fractured audience of the digital age. By creating a single, highly-visible public canvas, it provides a new way for a diverse community to share an experience, much like broadcast media once did – but on a local scale, and with democratic access.

The project launches with a celebration of local creativity, featuring work from regional artists, classic works from Birmingham Museums, alongside a series of powerful historic photographs of the Longbridge car plant, sourced by the Birmingham Photography Archive. These images are paired with inspirational captions that recognise the site’s industrial legacy while looking toward a future of renewed innovation.

In future phases, VieuPoint will open submissions to local schools, colleges, and community groups, giving young people and emerging artists the chance to see their work on a platform passed by over 100,000 vehicles each day, along with growing numbers of pedestrians.

Artwork from the Vieunite Art Library will also be displayed, from world famous gems to the latest contemporary artwork. The Vieunite library features work from world renowned institutions such as the National Galleries of Scotland, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, the Metropolitan Museum, and outstanding specialist galleries like the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art.

One of the first featured artists, Jo Vincent, said:“VieuPoint is absolutely vital because the whole world is digital, showing art in the community will spark interest and engage people. It will also show artists that there are more modern ways of sharing your art with the world.  It’s about showing the world your viewpoint and how you see the world.”

More Than Just Art

The remaining 50% of the screen is available for personal and business use:

  • Local residents can share special moments — from birthday messages to marriage proposals – for just £80/day. For a limited time, personal messages are available for just £1 per day!
  • Businesses can promote their brand to one of the busiest commuter routes in Birmingham for £100/day, with discounts available for campaigns over 14 days.

Each 10-second message is displayed once every two minutes (510 plays per day between 06:00-23:00).
