Residents at Longbridge Village retirement community received expert eye and hearing care advice this month, as part of an outreach event by a local opticians designed to raise awareness around eye and hearing health.
Teresa Foster, optical assistant, and Jessica Chauhan, trainee dispensing optician, represented the locally owned and run Specsavers store in Longbridge at the event – offering free glasses cleaning and chatting to residents about the importance of regular eye tests and hearing checks.
They also shared information about the range of NHS and private hearing services available in-store, aiming to help residents stay on top of both their sight and hearing health.
‘It was a pleasure to spend time with the residents of Longbridge Village and answer their questions about eye and hearing care,’ says Irfan Aziz, store director at Specsavers Longbridge.
‘We want people to know that Specsavers is here to support every aspect of their sight and hearing and that regular checks are vital to staying healthy and independent. We offer both eye and hearing services in store, and our team is always on hand to help.’
The event is part of the store’s wider commitment to supporting the local community and improving access to essential health services – especially for older residents.
