Armed officers have arrested a man in south Birmingham, after shop staff reported being threatened with a machete.
West Midlands Police (WMP) were called by staff at the store on Bristol Road South, just before midday yesterday (13th March), following reports items had been stolen.
Staff chased after a man on foot, and reported being threatened with a blade.
Firearms officers arrived at the location and found a man, aged 43, wanted for a number of offences, including theft, theft of a motor vehicle, and recall to prison.
He was arrested and will be returned to prison after he was wanted on recall for breaching his licence conditions.
A WMP spokesperson said: “We know how frustrating shop theft is for business owners, and the wider community, and we’ll always look to identify and arrest suspects.”
