UPDATE FRIDAY 10th May:
West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) confirmed today that a man suffered ‘potentially serious injuries’ in a disorder in West Heath yesterday (Thursday 9th May).
A WMAS spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.40pm to an assault at the junction of Cropredy Road and Fairfax Road in Northfield, Birmingham. One ambulance attended the scene.
“Upon arrival, we found two patients.
“Firstly, a man who was assessed and had sustained potentially serious injuries. He received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene before being conveyed to hospital under emergency blue light conditions for further treatment.
“Secondly, a woman who was assessed and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious. She received self care advice from ambulance staff before being discharged at the scene.”
A 29 year old man was arrested at the scene and police enquiries are ongoing.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon.
