This year, Northfield Community Partnership brings TWO urban beaches with family entertainment and sports events to South West Birmingham.
Funded by Bring it on Brum and Birmingham Children’s Partnership as part of the Department for Education’s Holiday Activity and Food Programme, the two events will bring FREE fun activities for all the family in Northfield and Kings Norton!
As well as an urban beach, deck chairs and buckets and spades there’ll be: dinosaurs; circus skills; live music including Johnny2Bad and The SKA 45s; samba music workshops and parade; storytelling with Spoz; cookery school with Digbeth Dining Club; arts and crafts with Northfield Arts Forum (NAF); bungee trampolines; sports and cycling with Kings Norton Rhinos, Eco Birmingham and Learn Active Coaching; community stalls and much, much more!
Free lunches, snacks and refreshments will be available to all school-age children who attend.
- The Green, Kings Norton (Sports events in Kings Norton Park) – Friday 30th July until Monday 2nd August 2021
- Price’s Square, Northfield (Sports events on Victoria Common) – Saturday 21st until Tuesday 24th August 2021
FREE BUS:
A free bus service will run twice daily from the 3 Estates to The Green during the Kings Norton event.
Pick up:
- Hawkesley Community Centre @ 10am and 12pm
- Hawkesley Square @ 10.05am and 12.05pm
- The Fold @ 10.10am and 12.10pm
- Return service: leaves The Green @ 11.30am and 2.30pm daily
CEO of Northfield Community Partnership, Rebecca Debenham said: “We are proud at Northfield Community Partnership to announce for the 9th year we are bringing our beaches back, with this year having double the fun with two beaches! One on Kings Norton Green and one on Price’s Square in Northfield Town Centre.
“We understand that the last year has been especially difficult during the Pandemic, with young people not being able to take part in usual fun activities. That is why here at NCP we are determined to make this year’s beaches the best yet!”
