A popular BMX Track in Rubery is to ‘finally’ undergo much needed repairs and improvements.

The BMX Track is situated in Brook Road Park, which recently had a bicycle repair and maintenance stand installed, funded by Bromsgrove Councillor Peter McDonald’s divisional funds.

The work on the track will start on the 29th of March.

Cllr Peter McDonald said: “It’s been a long wait but it’s good news”

“This is one of the very few BMX Tracks in the district and therefore gets a lot of use. The track provides a great deal of fun for young people while improving and developing their mountain bike skills and getting fitter at the same time.

“Since BMX racing began in the US in the 1960s, it has grown into a popular international sport for all ages. It is now even featured in the Olympic Games. It’s really good that Rubery has such a facility recognising that it is a fast-developing sport.”
