West Midlands Police are investigating after a 12-year-old boy was injured when an electric scooter he was on was in collision with a car near the entrance to the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham.
The incident is understood to happened on Monday 14 December at about 5.15pm and was reported to the police the following day (Tuesday).
The boy remains in hospital being treated for injuries to his legs which are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing.
Spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We understand the vehicle failed to stop at the scene and we are working to establish exactly what happened with CCTV being reviewed as our enquiries continue”.
