West Midlands Police are investigating after a young woman was viciously assaulted in a reportedly racially motivated attack in a Weoley Castle street on Saturday evening (23rd May).
The 24 year old victim was walking in Quarry Road some time after 9.30pm when she was allegedly racially abused by two men.
Following on from the abuse, she was hit on the head with an unknown object.
After falling to the ground, the woman was kicked in the legs and stomach.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “It is understood she lost consciousness and was taken to hospital by paramedics where she was treated for bruising and cuts before being discharged.”
The spokesperson confirmed that enquiries continue and anyone with information or CCTV is asked to get in touch.
