West Midlands Police are seeking witnesses to help trace the owner of the dog that attacked an 83 year old man in Bartley Green.
It’s understood that the incident happened at the top of the field/park between Adams Hill & Lye Avenue in Bartley Green at around 8pm Saturday evening (18th April) as the elderly gentleman was taking his daily walk.
It’s alleged that the dog (possibly a bull terrier) which caused the injuries to the back the man’s right leg wasn’t on a lead and was ”being walked by girl”.
The severity of the injury required a visit to A&E – he was admitted and required surgery.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We would urge the woman who was with the dog to come forward.”
The victim’s daughter Julie Shaw said: “He’s 83 and looks after himself but it’s such a worry him going into hospital at this time”.
