Children and staff at a Weoley Castle primary school have once again raised thousands of pounds for their chosen charity, this time completing a 5km walk during a heatwave!Â
On Friday (6th July), Our Lady and St Rose of Lima Primary School in Gregory Avenue held their annual fundraising event. The children (aged between 3 and 11 years) were joined by staff and parents on a sponsored 5km walk to Rowheath Pavilion in Bournville.
This year, they have raised over £4600 the Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Birmingham Women’s Hospital charity, crushing last year’s record of £3900!
The school takes charity very seriously and the super-fundraisers are no strangers to achieving HUGE targets! Over the last 4 years, the school has amassed over £15,000 for the Children’s Hospital and their charity fundraising over the last 6 years totals a massive £28,000 or more.

Well done, all – an amazing effort! Can’t wait to see what you’re planning for next year….!
The school’s fundraising efforts in 2015 saw them raise £2500 with a massive Skipathon in Weoley Castle Square!
