Stennards Leisure is a family-run care home in Kings Norton, Birmingham, providing a warm, friendly and supportive environment for our residents.

We are looking for a caring, reliable and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis.

The Role

The position is for 21 hours per week across 3 shifts, with a mixture of:

7:00am – 2:00pm
2:00pm – 9:00pm
Overtime is also available for those who would like to work additional hours.

Your Responsibilities

As a Care Assistant, your role will include providing person-centred care and support to our residents, helping them to live as comfortably, safely and independently as possible.

Your duties will include:

• Supporting residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and continence care
• Assisting residents with mobility and transfers, where required
• Supporting residents with eating and drinking, including preparing and serving meals and encouraging good nutrition and hydration
• Providing companionship and emotional support
• Supporting residents with their daily routines and activities
• Helping to maintain residents’ dignity, privacy and independence at all times
• Observing residents’ wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns to senior staff
• Completing care records and other relevant documentation accurately
• Supporting with medication, where trained and authorised to do so
• Keeping residents’ rooms and communal areas clean, tidy and safe
• Following all health and safety, safeguarding, infection control and care procedures
• Working closely with colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality care
• Treating every resident as an individual and respecting their choices, preferences and wishes

• Experienced in care is desirable, but full training can be provided for the right person
