West Midlands Police (WMP) are appealing for the public’s help after a man was left with stab injuries after being attacked by a group of youths in Northfield.
The man was attacked near Sam’s Chicken Shop, on the Bristol Road South, shortly before 6.50pm last night (Wed).
He was taken to hospital with injuries which aren’t life-changing or threatening.
WMP are in the early stages of their investigation but are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with any information, to please get in touch.
Detective Sergeant Shereen Ballintine, investigation supervisor at Bournville CID, said: “This was a nasty attack and we are keen to find those responsible. The incident took place during rush hour so we believe there would have been a number of people around who may have witnessed what happened.”
“We are appealing for witnesses or people with information to get in touch. We would particularly like to speak with people who may have dash cam or mobile phone footage.”
A WMP spokesperson added: “We understand incidents of this nature can cause concern in the community so we will have extra officers in the area today and over the coming days to offer reassurance.”
