A man in his 70s suffered serious injuries when his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car and a van in Frankley Green this morning (Tuesday 27th October).
The collision happened at around 9.45 am.
A West Mercia Police spokesman said that a car travelling on Ravenhayes Lane collided with the motorcyclist while attempting to turn right in to Frankley Green Lane. The motorcycle subsequently collided with a van waiting to exit the junction.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed the incident. He said: “We were called to reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike at the junction of Frankley Green and Frankley Green Lane at 9.40am. One ambulance and two paramedic officers were sent to the scene.
”On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was the motorcyclist. He was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham for further treatment.”
The police spokesman said that, although the man’s injuries were serious, they were not believed to be life threatening.
He added: “Ravenhayes Lane and Frankley Green were closed for around three hours while an investigation and recovery took place and has since reopened. […] no arrests were made.”
