Tickets are now available for Birmingham Hospice’s Winter Ball – an evening of dancing, entertainment and a delicious three-course meal, all in the name of hospice care.

Taking place at the beautiful Macdonald Burlington Hotel in the city centre on Friday 20th November 2026, the evening will be a great chance for guests to celebrate Christmas early or just treat themselves to a special night out.

The Winter Ball is returning after a successful event in 2023, raising more than £25,000 for the charity.

This year, guests will be able to dance the night away to hits from the ABBA Sisters Tribute, experience incredible illusions from Neil Edwards of Elegant Magic, and be entertained by host PJ Ellis, BBC WM presenter.

With the support of auctioneers, Superstars, guests will also have the chance to bid on an exciting range of exclusive auction prizes, and the DJ will keep the celebrations going all evening.

The Winter Ball is about more than just glitz and glamour though – it’s a way for Birmingham Hospice to raise awareness of its work, as well as generating vital funds. The charity is only partly funded by the NHS and needs to raise more than £8 million this year to ensure its services can continue.

Birmingham Hospice provides outstanding palliative and end of life care for local people in Birmingham, Solihull, Sandwell and Sutton Coldfield. On average each day, hospice teams care for around 685 people – that could be in the Inpatient Units at Selly Park and Erdington, or in people’s own homes.

Lucy Watkins, Income Generation Director, said: “Our Winter Ball is set to be a special night where we celebrate Birmingham Hospice and our positive impact on the community.

“It’s a joy to bring together individuals, families and businesses at an event that’s all about celebration. It’s vital we host events like this to raise as much money as we can for hospice care.

“The entertainment for the evening will get everyone on the dance floor, plus we have a couple of surprises planned, so we look forward to welcoming you for a night of glitz, glamour and good times.”

Tickets are available to buy now – individual tickets cost £85 or tables of 10 are available for £750.

The evening starts at 7pm.
