West Midlands Police (WMP) were called to reports of a disorder and a stabbing on Jiggins Lane, Birmingham, last night (1st July) shortly before 5.40pm.

One man was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries which thankfully were not serious.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and remains in custody.

A spokesperson for WMP said: “Officers in the area [are] carrying out CCTV enquiries.”

“We would ask anyone who was in the area at the time, has any doorbell or dashcam footage to come forward and speak to us.”

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) said: “We were called shortly after 5.30pm to reports of a stabbing on Genners Lane in Bartley Green. One ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended the scene.

Upon arrival we found a man with serious injuries which were not believed to be life threatening. He received advanced trauma care at the scene before being conveyed to hospital for further treatment.”
