Two teenage boys were arrested in Woodgate following a string of attempted break-ins and the theft of an Audi in south west Birmingham in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 26th October).

The arrests highlight the importance of promptly reporting attempted crimes and suspicious behaviour.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We were alerted in the early hours to a series of attempts to get into four homes in the south Birmingham area. We also received a report of suspicious activity at a property in Stirchley.

“During one of the attempted burglaries, damage was caused to two cars parked outside one property and an Audi was stolen from outside another address at around 2.20am.”

Officers’ enquiries quickly traced suspects to the Woodgate Valley area and two teenage boys, aged 17 and 16, were arrested at around 3:15am.

The two boys remain in custody today on suspicion of burglary as enquiries continue. A vehicle was also been recovered and returned to its owner.
