A fire at a Longbridge tyre shop was brought under control overnight.
Seventy-five firefighters battled the blaze at Frankley Tyres (not to be confused with nearby Longbridge Tyres) at West Works Way, off Bristol Road South.
West Midlands Fire Service confirmed: “Shortly after 10.35pm on Wednesday 10 September, we responded to West Works Way, Longbridge, Birmingham.
“At the height of this incident, 14 fire engines and two hydraulic aerial platforms were in attendance, working to extinguish a fire in a commercial unit. Drone operations supported firefighters throughout the night.
“The building, measuring around 30m x 50m, was constructed of steel frame and metal sheeting. Firefighters have made good progress extinguishing the fire overnight, and we have scaled down significantly.
“There have been no reported casualties or injuries at this incident.
“A structural engineer is now in attendance.”

Fire crews are battling a huge blaze at an industrial unit in Longbridge tonight (Wednesday 10th – Thursday 11th September).
Members of the public called emergency services around 11pm on Wednesday after a fire was spotted in the unit in West Works Way, off Bristol Road South.
By midnight, West Midlands Fire Service confirmed that they had 12 fire crews in attendance at the site, close to the Blaise Veterinary Referals Hospital.
West Midlands Fire Service advised: “As a precaution, if you live or work nearby, please keep doors and windows closed. Avoid the area, where possible. Bristol Road South heading towards city will be closed for some time.”
