Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man sadly died after being hit by a car in a Rednal street yesterday evening (Monday 21st July).
West Midlands Police confirmed they were called to Orsmcliff Road, close to the junction with Edgewood Road, just after 5pm, where a car had hit a man and a house.
The man, in his 20s, suffered serious injuries and was attended to by members of the public before emergency services arrived to take over.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma team and a critical care paramedic to the scene.
A service spokeswoman said: “A pedestrian, a man, was found to be in a critical condition with multiple injuries when ambulance staff arrived on scene. The team worked together to administer advanced life support to the man before conveying him on blue lights and sirens to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone, the man was confirmed dead in hospital last night.”
A 28-year-old man was arrested shortly after the incident with two others, also 28, being arrested later following police enquiries. All remain in custody for questioning on suspicion of murder.
A police scene remains in place while enquiries continue. West Midlands Police have appealed for information, saying: “Our thoughts, and support, are with his loved ones at this devastating time.”
