A BRAND new audiology hub has opened its doors in Longbridge, bringing high-quality hearing care to the local community.
The Specsavers store on the High Street now offers a range of dedicated audiology services including hearing screening, comprehensive checks, professional ear wax removal, and the latest in hearing device technology. The hub officially opened on Monday 9th June with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony where guest of honour, Jane Harrison from charity, Hearing Dogs joined the celebrations.
The launch also marked the start of a year-long fundraising partnership, with the team at the new Audiology Hub planning a range of activities to raise money and awareness of the work of Hearing Dogs.
‘It was lovely of the hub to invite us along for the opening and to have the honour of cutting the ribbon,’ says Jane Harrison. ‘We were thrilled to hear that the hub’s team will be fundraising for Hearing Dogs over the next year and can’t wait to see what they get up to. Support from teams and communities like this is essential to helping Hearing Dogs continue to carry out the invaluable work they do.’
The opening was packed with activity, including free cakes for visitors and an appearance from the popular ‘big ear’ figure who was out and about and proved very popular as a photo opportunity. A friendly concierge was on also hand to pass out leaflets, share information, and answer questions about the new services on offer.
Heading up the new hub is audiology director, Shammus Thabraez, who brings over 13 years of experience to the role. Born and raised in Birmingham, Shammus graduated with a BSc in Audiology from Aston University and is excited to serve his local community.
‘I’m passionate about delivering the best possible hearing care,’ says Shammus. ‘It’s a real privilege to launch this new hub so close to home, and I’m looking forward to helping the communities around Longbridge and Northfield to hear the world a little better.’
The Longbridge hearing hub forms part of an ongoing commitment to make expert audiology services more accessible and convenient for local residents with the hub also supporting the sister Specsavers store in Northfield.
