A prolific thief who targeted businesses has been jailed.
Peter Doyle has been jailed after admitting to the offences at court.
The 47-year-old was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning (2nd March) by officers from West Midlands Police’s (WMP) Proactive Crime team, Op Skybridge, after he was found to be carrying out a burglary at a business in Selly Oak.
He was later charged with multiple burglary offences and shop theft.

The 47-year-old’s sentencing came after an investigation was carried out by officers from WMP’s city centre team, who, in conjunction with the Central BID Business Crime Reduction Partnership, managed to secure CCTV images of the offences.
Doyle carried out multiple burglary and shop theft offences between January and February, where he targeted businesses.
WMP spokesperson said: “We know how frustrating shop theft is for business owners, and the wider community, and we’ll always look to identify and arrest suspects.
“We carry out regular patrols – through both visible and plain clothed officers – to monitor retail areas and respond to issues.
“We’ll continue to pursue jail terms and target those who cause harm to businesses and customers.
“It’s important people report any incidents to us so we take action. You can do this by calling 101, or via Live Chat on our website. Always call 999 in an emergency.”
