Three men have been jailed after West Midlands Police firearms teams recovered a converted revolver and ammunition following a pursuit in Northfield.
Jermaine Vassell, Kiyran Delaney, and Rayhan Hurd were sentenced to a combined total of 20 years at Birmingham Crown Court.
The men were stopped after a member of the public contacted WMP just before midnight on Christmas Eve in 2023 with some vital intelligence about a firearm.
Police linked two men thought to be involved – Vassell and Delaney – to a car which activated ANPR cameras in south Birmingham.
The car was tracked by firearms officers but it failed to stop – after a short pursuit it was brought to a halt on Quarry Lane in Northfield.
Both Vassell and Delaney tried to escape but were chased and caught by firearms officers.
The driver fled the scene but an investigation later identified him as Hurd.

Officers recovered a blank firing revolver which had been converted to fire ammunition.
A search inside the vehicle also found further ammunition.
All three men pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm and ammunition at earlier hearings.
At Birmingham Crown Court last month Kiyran, aged 21 of Cumberland Road, Walsall, was sentenced to six years in prison.
Jermaine Vassell, aged 20 of West Heath was sentenced to eight years in prison.
On Tuesday (18th February) Rayhan Hurd, aged 26 of Wollescote Forge Mews, Dudley, was sentenced to six years in prison.

DC Sean Grove, from our Major Crime Team, said: “This case shows how seriously we take reports of firearms, and highlights the work we’re doing to keep the public safe from them.
“From our initial intelligence, brave actions by firearms officers and our extensive investigation – we have taken a dangerous weapon and ammunition off the streets and brought those responsible to justice.
“If you have any information about people with weapons, you can report it to us anonymously and we will take action.”
