A man has been charged with a string of shop thefts after targeting supermarkets in Halesowen.
Wayne Brittain, aged 39 from Cradley has been charged with six shop thefts in January and February.
He was charged and remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.
This comes after hundreds of pounds of items were stolen from two supermarkets in Halesowen.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Like most areas of the country, we have seen an increase in shop theft over the last year but we are committed to identifying persistent offenders and arresting them.”
“Over the last year, we have arrested 743 (39%) more people in connection with shop theft and we have solved more than 3,379 offences (126%) compared to last year”
