Two teenage boys have been arrested after a 15-year-old was stabbed in a Northfield street in the early hours of this morning (Monday 18th November).

Emergency services were called to junction of Frankley Beeches Road and the A38 B Bristol Road South / Sir Herbert Austin Way just  before 1am.

The injured boy suffered life threatening injuries and remains in hospital this morning.

A police cordon remains in place this morning with the A38 closed between Frankley Beeches Road and Lockwood Road while officers examine the scene.

A West Midlands Police statement said: “We arrested two teenage boys on suspicion of attempted murder.

“We are in the early stages of our investigation and our officers working hard to establish the full details on the incident.”

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed: “We were called shortly before 1am to reports of a stabbing on Frankley Beeches Road in Northfield. One ambulance, two paramedic officers and a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic attended the scene.

“Upon arrival we found a teenage male with life threatening injuries. He received advanced trauma care at the scene before being conveyed to hospital for further treatment.”

  1. Paraphrasing certain well known politician – stabbing incidents are natural part of living in large cities, businesses as usual.
