West Midlands Police (WMP) have arrested a man following an assault in Northfield, Birmingham.
Police were called to reports of disorder in Groveley Lane, Northfield, at around 3.30pm yesterday (Thursday), involving two men.
A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault.
The second man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in a stable condition.
A spokesperson for WMP said: “We understand the concern this incident may raise in the community, and as a result, a police presence will remain in the area to ease any concerns.”
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor with a Critical Care Paramedic attended the scene.”
“On arrival we discovered one patient, a man. He was treated for serious injuries before being taken to hospital.”
