West Midlands Police are appealing for witnesses after a 10-year-old boy was injured in a collision with a car in Selly Park yesterday (Sunday 21st July).

The boy was riding an e-scooter at the junction of Sir Harry’s Road and Pershore Road just after 6pm when a white Audi convertible mounted the pavement.

The male driver took the child to hospital where he was found to have suffered two broken legs. However, the man left without leaving any details.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “The child suffered two broken legs which require surgery and will face months of rehabilitation.

“We are exploring CCTV and have examined the scene as well as speaking to local residents and shopkeepers, but we are keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened or has dashcam footage.”
