Grab your sun cream (fingers crossed!), shorts and flip flops and get ready for double beach fun in south west Birmingham this summer!

The much-loved Northfield Beach – and its newer sister event in Kings Norton – will return, celebrating ten years since the first Northfield town centre beach event in 2012!

The events are organised by Northfield Community Partnership and provide activities and entertainment for all ages, alongside a real sand beach – complete with striped deck chairs and buckets and spades.

This year’s events will be held on Victoria Common, Northfield (Thursday 28th – Sunday 31st July) and The Green, Kings Norton (Thursday 11th – Sunday 14th August).

All activities are FREE and food will be provided for children entitled to free school meals. Anyone can pop to the beach between 10am and 4pm. Please note, booking is required for some activities and for food. Full details and booking.

Northfield Community Partnership CEO Rebecca Debenham said: “We are proud to announce for the 10th year we are bringing our beaches back, with this year having double the fun with two beaches: one on Kings Norton Green and one in Victoria Common in Northfield.

“This will be our 10th year anniversary of Northfield Beach and we are going to be celebrating this with a huge range of activities.

”As ever, all the activities that we provide will be free, and we would like to thank all our funders for making this possible. We hope that there will be something on offer for all the family and we look forward to welcoming you back to the beaches!”
