The under 15 all girls team from Bromsgrove bears basketball club are the undefeated league champions and on Wednesday won the play off championships to round off a remarkable first year.
This exciting team of local girls came together in May 2021 to form the first all-girls
team in the area for many years, training at Colmers school and sixth form college
on Bristol Road South in Rednal the girls have competed in the Youth Basketball
League during 2021/22 winning all of their league games, finishing top of the league
in a season where they were undefeated.
On Wednesday 16 th June at the paly off championships game they were crowned
champions beating the team from Wolverhampton Slam by 28 points.
The girls now look forward to continuing their journey by competing in Basketball
England’s national league West Midlands division for 2022/23 and anyone wishing to
join can come along to Colmers school & sixth form college on Wednesdays from 6
