Local residents have created a beautiful community garden in Rednal after their previous attempt was destroyed by Birmingham City (BCC}Â weed killing the area.
The idea to transform the unused and rather sad looking land owned by BCC on Edgewood Road was organised by Fiona Phipps who runs Facebook group, Rednal Litter Busters.
With help and donations from local residents, Morrisons Community Champion (Jane Williams), Cofton Nursery, Andy’s Plants and AP Home and Garden Services, the wonderful transformation of the Rednal Community Garden was complete.
A very happy Fiona said: “I am so overwhelmed with the turnout of the Community, this morning [27th June] over 30 adults and children came to plant over 400 plants in our Edgewood Road Community Garden”
“It looks incredible and I hope it stays that way.”

How did Weed Killer aimed directly at the pavement kill plants on a flower bed, 2ft-4ft high, with a brick wall in between them?
