Two men have been charged with the murder of Jason D’Aguilar, aged 33, who was found with serious injuries in Central Avenue, Longbridge on Sunday night (13 June).

He was taken to hospital for treatment but sadly died from his injuries the following morning.

Ben Wiggett, 28, of Cofton Hackett and Jordan Haines, 26, of Weoley Castle were remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today (16 June).

Another two men, aged 26 and 21, were also arrested on suspicion of murder and have been released on police bail with conditions.

West Midlands Police have arrested four people on suspicion of murder following a fatal fight in Longbridge on Sunday (13 June) – as the victim is formally named as Jason D’Aguilar.

Mr D’Aguilar was found with serious injuries after being chased and assaulted in Central Avenue, Longbridge, at around 9.50pm.The 33-year-old was taken to hospital but sadly died yesterday morning.

Police acted on information and detained four men – aged 21, 26, 26 and 28 – on suspicion of murder and they currently remain in custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Wes Martin, from our homicide unit, said: “We’ve made some quick progress as we seek to establish the circumstances leading to Jason’s death.

“We believe there are still people out there who have information, or mobile phone or dashcam footage, which can assist our enquiries but have not yet spoken to officers.

“I would urge them to do the right thing and tell us what they know so we can get answers for Jason’s grieving family.”

A post mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death is to take place in due course.
