West Midlands Police are investigating as a 16 year old girl was hospitalised after being assaulted by another teenage girl in Kings Norton park yesterday (Monday 6th July).

A video of the viscous assault has been circulated on social media showing the victim on the ground being punched and kicked in the head while others look on.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We are aware of shocking footage circulating on social media of a teenage girl being attacked in Kings Norton park on Monday (6 July).

“When officers arrived the offender had left the scene and the 16-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment to cuts and bruising to her head.

“Efforts are now on-going to speak to the girl and her assailant.”
