West Midlands Police are appealing for witnesses after a young cyclist was seriously injured after being in a collision with a car in Longbridge this evening (Tuesday 30th June).

The collision happened in Longbridge Lane at the junction of High Street, close to Sainsbury’s, at around 6.50pm.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “The cyclist, believed to be in his late teens, has been taken to hospital with a serious head injury.”

Road closure:

Longbridge Lane between High Street and Bristol Road South (A38) remained closed at 8.15pm and police urged drivers to avoid the area.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is helping officers with their investigation.
