The RSPCA are appealing for information after a dog with severe leg injuries was found abandoned in a Stirchley street last month (Friday 24th April).
Found with her mouth bandaged shut, staffie ‘Zena’ may yet face amputation due to the severity of her injuries.

RSPCA inspectors believe it is likely her injuries were caused by the bite of another dog.
She’s now recovering well at Birmingham Animal Hospital in Frankley but the injuries to one of her legs were so severe that she is still at risk of amputation.
‘Zena’ was found to be microchipped but when the RSPCA contacted the owner whose details were listed, it was discovered she had been given away and the details not updated.
Investigating inspector Nichola Geraghty said: “Initially it was thought she’d been hit by a car but when vets had a closer look at her they could see that clearly this wasn’t the case. The injuries to her legs were terrible and she was howling in pain when she was rescued.
“We’re really hoping someone will come forward and get in touch with us as we are keen to find out how Zena came to be in this way.”

Nichola said that, despite what she had been through, ‘Zena’ is still a “really sweet dog”.
She said: “Everyone who meets her loves her. She is really starting to show off her Staffie smile.
“It is so sad that such a sweet dog has gone through what she has. Once she has recovered and if no one claims her then we can start looking for a new home for her.”
