Bromsgrove Council have announced that they are re-starting the Garden Waste Service (GWS) for residents on Tuesday 5th May.

As with many services, GWS was suspended at the start of the lock-down period, however the Council are now able to resume the fortnightly service from Tuesday 5 May 2020 for existing customers.

The Council will only be collecting garden waste from the brown bin – to ensure that the crews can get round to all customers as scheduled.

Any surplus garden waste that you may have generated must be ‘stored and then put back into the brown bin ready for the next collection (no bags in the bin)’.

Alternatively, the council suggest that you could try home composting.

Collection schedules remain the same as before the service was suspendedYou can look up your collection schedule here.

To ensure there is no contamination, the council urge residents to ensure they only put the following items in their brown bin:

  • Grass cuttings
  • Branches (up to 10cm diameter)
  • Clippings and leaves
  • Weeds, plants and flowers
