An 11 year old from Northfield has had a moving poem published as part of a campaign to spread positivity through creativity as the world is gripped by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Robyn Green’s poem ‘Look Around You’ has been published by Young Writers on their #WritetoUnite website.

Children and adults alike are encouraged to share stories and poems with the world, sending ‘messages of hope and positivity, to cut through the doom and gloom.’

Robyn’s mum Sandie said: “I’m so proud of Robyn for doing this. It totally blew me away, especially when she’d had a heavy week with school work. She told me that she been thinking about it all week.

“All we can do as parents is to encourage our children to their best.”

Well done, Robyn. Stay safe and well and keep up the awesome work!

Look around you
Look around you the world is not as we know it, The place seems to have fell apart, The virus all around us, And people suffering from a broken heart. Pulling together and keep out the hate, Love and friendship is stronger and its great. People alone or people who are together, the covid 19 won't last forever, Keep smiling and shining keep humanity alive, and through this pandemic we will survive. Think of rainbows and claps and how we all care, for key workers, you are fantastic and always there. Always stick together and we will all walk the same pace, As long as we stay in and think of others we will save the human race. Robyn Aged 11 #writetounite
