Local parents share storytelling videos as many begin educating at home

As schools close to most pupils across the country, parents and carers in south west Birmingham and beyond are joining others around the world in a new online challenge. 

As a fun and entertaining activity during the COVID-19 outbreak, families are sharing videos of their story time on social media with the hashtag #StoryTimeChallenge.

Charlotte Bull from Rednal posted a video of her fun, sensory reading of Bear Hunt for her twins Dylan and Alex.

She was challenged by her sister, Ellie Taylor from Rubery; a teacher at Chadsgrove School in Bromsgrove.

Ellie started the #StoryTimeChallenge so parents and carers had a resource to take a break and let someone else read for their children.

She posted her own telling of The Gruffalo on Facebook.
